Let us Meditate on the Six Pillars of Jesus youth

Jesus Youth strives to promote an active Catholic life style answering the modern day challenges of a youth. Every Jesus Youth must build their life in strong foundation of Jesus Christ and grow step by step through strong pillars.

The six pillars of Jesus Youth life style are:

1.   Prayer:

“ And in the morning, a great while before day, he rose and went out to a lonely place, and there he prayed.” ( Mk. 1:35 )     A daily quiet time with the Lord leading to an experience of the companionship of Jesus enables one to have a joyful attitude in daily life.

Reflection

Am I regular in my personal prayer?

How much I have grown in my relationship with God?

2. Word of God:

“Thy word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (Ps.119:105)A regular time with the Holy Scripture helps in shaping one’s life according to God’s will. In this way the person learns a life style of seeking God’s guidance through continuous consultation.

Reflection

Do I have a plan for regular bible study?

Do I read bible everyday?

Do I have the habit of reading spiritual books?

How much deeply my life has rooted in God’s Word?

3. Sacramental Life:

“When he was at the table with them, he took the bread and blessed, and broke it, and gave it to them. And their eyes were opened and they recognized him; and He vanished out of their sight. They said to each other,” Do not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the scriptures?”(Luke.24:30-32)  Frequent recourse to these channels of grace helps one lead a life of wholeness and strength. A Jesus Youth advances in holiness and receives power to fulfill the mission through an active participation in the liturgical life of the Church.

Reflection

Do I attend Holy Mass daily or frequently?

How frequently I have gone through the sacrament of   reconciliation?

4.  Fellowship:

Christian life is a call to live the life of the Trinity in communion with one’s brothers and sisters in Christ through mutual support, encouragement and gentle correction. Informal relationships and groups, cells, prayer groups and various Service Teams are the important forums of fellowship in Jesus Youth.

Reflection

Do I attend prayer meetings regularly?

Do I have a cell group for sharing and prayer?

What  are the services I offer to the Church and Prayer groups?

5.Evangelization:

The fruit of an active life with Jesus is a joyful commitment to witnessing and sharing the person and message of Jesus with others. This commitment to evangelization is the touchstone of an effective Jesus Youth lifestyle. A fine balancing of these five ‘Constants’ gives clarity and depth to life, leading to a steady commitment to a life of holiness.

Reflection

Do I have a conviction that I came to Kuwait not only for a job but to share my faith with others?

Am I a true witness of Jesus Christ through my life style?  Do I spend a part of my income for evangelization works?

6.   Option for the poor

Reflection

Do I help the needy around me?

Do I spend a part of my income for the poor people?

Make a decision in front of Jesus that each of us will grow in these six pillars to build our spiritual life to witness Him and gain Youth for Jesus

To get more fruits from this wonderful program,  Let us carefully go through these instructions

  • Meditate on the Six pillars of Jesus Youth given in this brochure and answer the questions?
  • Have a Good Confession before coming for this program
  • Intercede for this program through Prayer, Holy Mass and Rosary
  • Make a list of ‘my talents’ which I wish to use for the Building of Jesus’ mystical body, the Church and prayer groups.
  • Recite daily this prayer  ( Prayer of St. Francis Assisi ) :

Lord make me an instrument of your peaceWhere there is hatred, let me show loveWhere there is injury, pardonWhere there is faith, pardonWhere there is doubt, faithWhere there is despair, hopeWhere there is darkness, lightWhere there is sadness, joyO Devine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love, Forit is giving that  we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.                                .

Jesus Said to St. Francis Assisi from the cross at St. Dominic Church: “Francis my house is falling down. You must rebuild it”     Put your name in place of Francis and meditate and take a decision.
